The Greatest and Greenest Romantic Graphic Short Story
For 2018’s Jonathan Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story Competition, I challenged myself to condense ‘the Greatest and Greenest Romantic’ into a four-page comic. Using the test artwork and roughs from my draft book, I edited the story down to the absolute minimum, and devised an ink and watercolour style with a simpler colour palette to suit the medium.
Despite the tough decisions that were necessary to fit it into the required length and format, I was particularly pleased with the finished result, and delighted when I collected my giclée prints – one set to submit, one to frame for the wall.
